Path-Illogical beneath the Tree of Lust by Kris P. Kreme<\/p><\/div>\n

Shane volunteered to be a Big Buddy, but this decision encouraged by his wife might lead to very Big problems when one of his two troubled teens stumbles upon The Tree of Lust.<\/p>\n

Mount Madness has a reputation for a path, one that changes people, their minds and bodies forever. Marking trails, troubled teen Tanya finds a certain tree and passes out, seemingly in a haze of unconscious lust at the base of it.<\/p>\n

When Shane and troubled teen Seth find her, they soon find themselves trapped in a moment and place out of time, and the only escape is to live out whatever lustful fantasies they always had using Tanya’s body.<\/p>\n

Shane definitely isn’t a morning person, not that he supposes anyone would be a morning person on Mount Madness. Yawning and rubbing at blurry eyes, he tries to remind himself why he’s even taking part in the Big Buddy program. But how could he ever imagine that a program for troubled teens is about to change his entire life?<\/p>\n

It was Libby, Shane’s frustratingly slow-paced methodical wife, who is behind his being a Big Buddy today. Libby has always taken things slow, and while Shane would like nothing more than to start a family, she thinks he should have some experience with making young lives better, a little parental testing so to speak… and so Shane waits on the mountain road near his truck for the two troubled teens he has been assigned to mark trails with today.<\/p>\n

When the other vehicles show up, the parents are just as excited to have a day away, speeding off as Seth and Tanya get out. Seth is a creative kid with a tendency to draw some perverted cartoons, letting his idle fantasies get the best of him, and it doesn’t hurt that he has a bit of a chip on his shoulder and quite the attitude. Tanya is a girl he has seen before, and she has a tendency to overreact to male attention, assuming everyone who looks at her a certain way is little more than a perverted predator. As it happens one of the men Tanya violently punched for being a pervert happened to be an off-duty cop and that landed her in big trouble since she only felt like he was looking at her weird.<\/p>\n

Neither of them are anymore excited to be doing a day of Big Buddy service and intervention than Shane is, but soon they all may find their fates intertwined with an inescapable time loop that will force each of them to face the truth behind what they really desire.<\/p>\n

As part of the project Shane is Big Buddy to, they need to work as a team to make fresh paint marks on trees along the many hiking trails of Mount Madness. There are some to avoid, some to find by seeing carvings on trees and put fresh paint there. Tanya will scout a bit ahead, finding marked trees, tying ribbons on them, and Shane and Seth will then check the tree marking and paint it if necessary. And of course while doing all of this they will talk over their troubles and come together as a team.<\/p>\n

Or at least that’s how it’s supposed to work.<\/p>\n

When Tanya gets a bit ahead of them over a hill, she calls out that she has found a very strange tree, carvings on it, words, not trail markers. And she sounds like she is having difficult breathing as she says this. Climbing the hill to see what the problem might be, Shane and Seth see Tanya laying rather peacefully against the base of a very old tall tree… and upon running down to reach her, they see that she isn’t passed out.<\/p>\n

Tanya appears to be asleep, roaming her hands sensually across her young teenage body and letting out little gasping moans. Trying to snap her out of it, knowing there was no mention of drugs in her information sheet, Shane is at a loss until they both see the words carved on that tree above her.<\/p>\n

In perfectly modern English the old carvings read Welcome to the Tree of Lust, enjoy Eternity.<\/p>\n

Shane and Seth are as confused as ever, especially when after their eyes blur, new words have somehow appeared, these indicating that they have forever to enjoy the body before them and only by living out their fantasies will they escape.<\/p>\n

Feeling strange, Shane is soon watching Seth give into a twisted kinky fantasy he only recently confessed about illustrating in his comic art… and upon seeing that fantasy come true at the expense of poor Tanya, they suddenly both find themselves back at the top of the hill looking down as they had when first seeing that tree and her laid beneath it.<\/p>\n

It soon becomes clear to Shane that he and Seth are trapped in an endless loop of time and space, trapped there on that particular spot Beneath the Tree of Lust, and unless they give in to every twisted lustful fantasy they ever had using Tanya’s available body… none of them will escape.<\/p>\n

But this is Mount Madness, and perhaps the Tree of Lust merely lies along a certain trail where no one truly escapes. What happens when they do such endlessly depraved perverted things, only to escape back to a time before they met… and take their newfound twisted lust with them?<\/p>\n

Readers Choice Month reminds readers that losing yourself in a forest this summer can be fun, but losing your mind to lust might be downright Path-illogical.<\/p>\n
