Conducting a psychology study in the depths of a mysteriously modern building on a college campus, June is secretly working to meet an agenda of her own this year.
Ten volunteers have been selected from countless applications, everyone who meets the requirements for the study eager to take part after a massive cash payout for participation is promised. But only ten women have been selected, and whether future students of the university, current students, grad students, or graduates, they all will find this psychology study transporting them straight into the kinky pages of a twisted story chosen just for them.
June isn’t the only one hiding an agenda, the ones behind this supposed psychology study have their own intentions, and they have provided not only the most modern building anyone has seen on campus, but a machine at the heart of that building called PORTALS. Standing for Psychological Observance Retinal Transference Algorithmic Life Stimulator… the explanation June gives each volunteer before stepping into the PORTALS chamber is that it will recreate a story they are read, a story intended to be aberrant and crude, to illicit a psychological response from them. What really happens is it creates the story they hear, and the volunteers are helpless to escape becoming an actual part of that story.
