Vanessa is a straight A student, highly academically honored senior, and sure to be the class valedictorian… but her most challenging school effort may be an upcoming costume contest where the behavior is as important as the look. So when she decides she will dress up as a mental patient, she goes to a local psychiatrist psychologist down the street to get some advice on acting convincingly crazy.
But will his chatty friendly demeanor do much more than just help Vanessa find the crazy within? Could it actually release crazy impossible twisted beliefs that change her mind and body in more and more crazy ways?

Vanessa is at the top of her class, a senior in high school, involved in plenty of extracurricular academic activities… but none of that may matter after she seeks advice from a local psychiatrist psychologist on how best to act crazy.
It’s finally time for a Konversation about HallowKreme this year!
Every year the seniors have a big Halloween costume contest, a contest where it isn’t just the look and theme of a costume that can win, but the performance and effort to embody that costume. Vanessa plans to dress as a mental patient, so she wants to talk with an expert about acting convincingly crazy.
Amused as he is at the idea, Doc isn’t entirely sure there is a clearly defined way of acting crazy, since as he puts it crazy comes from within, and has to be a concept one makes their own.
The window dressing of behavior and expression are all well and good, but crazy is a unique concept to convince others. But fortunately Doc is a chatty friendly guy and he has some exercises he can take Vanessa through in acting crazy.
The first exercise is reacting crazy, and for that Doc uses one of the colorful doughnuts his secretary brought in earlier. He then has Vanessa hold the doughnut making statements about the doughnut that are increasingly unlikely and bizarre. Her reactions need to embody crazy… through words, expressions, and behavior.
And soon enough Vanessa is getting the hang of it, putting on truly crazy-eyed expressions, enjoying the natural way crazy really does come from within.
But as these exercises continue and the friendly Doc challenges her more for getting into her character, will the line truly blur between pretend and reality? Could Vanessa end up every bit as crazy in both mind and body as the outlandish statements she reacted to about that simple little doughnut?
