SINtendo NEED for SEED by Kris P. Kreme

When Libby stops by her brother’s apartment to wait on him, she encounters Howie, the slacker guy that always acts weird around her while speaking more to her chest than her. But after Howie warns her not to mess with her brother’s stuff, like his games, claiming they are special… it inspires rebellious Libby to do exactly that while waiting.

Finding what she believes is a Need for Speed racing video game, she ends up realizing too late that the missing letter from the title isn’t an amusing error, and this is really SINtendo NEED for SEED, a racing game where every bump from competing cars instills a painfully intense growing hunger right in her gut… a literal NEED for SEED.

Coed Libby is stopping by her brother’s apartment, mostly to discuss their gift for their dad’s birthday later in the month, but with him gone, she may end up dealing more intimately than ever expected with his creepy neighbor Howie after unintentionally playing a SINtendo racing game.

Libby has dealt with Howie before, so isn’t surprised to see him hanging outside the apartment building when she arrives. He’s the same age as her big brother, but unlike her brother, Owen, Howie is not in school, and there are questions if he ever was. He’s a slacker stoner kind of guy that tends to leer at Libby and today she supposes she can’t blame him, wearing a cute pink top that like most tops, shows off her large breasts.

But with Owen not home yet, helping a professor out on campus, Libby has time alone in his apartment and something Howie said, a bizarre warning about not messing with Owen’s stuff, or playing any of his games inspires rebellious Libby to do just that.

Finding Owen’s game system, surprised it has a wired controller, she finds what she believes is just the game for her, a favorite series from when she was a kid, Need for Speed… although she is amused that there is a typing error on the cartridge label, making it Need for Seed.

Loading the game, she’s even more amused that the voice acting got the title wrong too, a booming voice asking if she feels the NEED, the NEED for SEED?

Still, it is a racing game, and after choosing a pink car, having to bizarrely confirm she is a female gamer, Libby is soon racing along through a realistic environment, even taking an early lead, proving to her she’s just as good at gaming as she always was.

It isn’t until other cars threaten to catch up, and one of them bumps her car that she feels the strange and sudden tummy pains. Each time she is bumped she soon feels almost an inward punch to her gut, but the pain isn’t as bad as it is surprisingly good, a feeling that confuses her especially as the bumps from other competing cars starts to oddly give her a hunger. And by the end of her first race, coming in an unfortunate dead last, Libby is definitely feeling… the need.

It’s between rounds with a bizarrely catchy pop music background still playing on the screen, that Libby suddenly realizes Howie, as annoying as he may be… as simple and slacker a loser as he is, has what she needs. But will getting him to give it to her help her do better in the next race?

Libby may be racing a car in a video game, but is it her own sleek engine that is about to fire on all pistons? Can she win a race, will Howie keep giving her all the seed she needs, and is the catchy pop music soundtrack doing something to make sure Howie’s interest keeps chugging along far past anything normal?

Find out as this Readers Choice Month, SINtendo asks and answers the question… do you feel the NEED?
