SINtendo: A Konversation about Gaming by Kris P. Kreme

At a focus group on gaming, Doc notices all the others in the waiting room staring at their phones. And it makes him think about the fact that everyone has games on them at all times… but are those games good or bad?

Striking up a conversation with Ella, the only girl in the group, a pretty coed who also happens to be sitting nearby staring at her phone, Doc brings up the idea of more interactive gaming, a way of bridging the divide between staring at screens and staring at another person.

But will this chat get kinky and uncomfortable for Ella after Doc becomes more and more blunt, especially his opinions of what kind of a game character she herself would make?

If the first book of SINtendo September didn’t SELL you on SINtendo, then maybe it’s time to focus on what your needs are as readers… focus with a focus group, and of course who better to talk gaming than everyone’s favorite talkative Doc?

When Doc finds himself a part of a focus group, sitting in a waiting room with a few others, he naturally notices a lot about everyone and everything in the room.

First, there are no magazines anywhere to be found, which is strange going back to his younger days… the days before everyone just sat staring mindlessly at their phones.

But second, he notices that probably everyone is playing games on those phones they stare at, which brings to mind interesting thoughts on how these days for the first time ever, everyone has games with them all the time… and so Doc of course strikes up a friendly conversation with a beautiful coed, the youngest of the ones waiting for this focus group to begin.

Ella is more than happy to chat with Doc, especially since she agreed to the focus group because it has something to do with gaming and her goal is to go into gaming as a career. Little does she know just how INTO gaming she is about to get.

When Doc speaks of the psychological importance of face to face gaming as opposed to staring at screens, Ella is intrigued, even thinking that when she goes into gaming herself she can take those ideas, that information Doc is offering from years of psychological counseling, and apply it to the games she helps push.

But when Doc encourages her to go, as an exercise, and ask the other two men across the waiting room from them if they want to play with her, she’s pretty sure that won’t go well… but Doc thinks he knows exactly how it will go offering an example by running through the scenario with her himself.

After he says he’d like to play crude games with her body, using very explicit terms… will Ella realize that something about this entire focus group is off, or will she tolerate Doc’s overly open discussion about what kind of a game character a girl like Ella would most likely be?

Will Ella ask the men to play with her, and will those men prove her assumptions about what responses men would give to a girl like Ella wrong? Is there a reason she’s the only girl in the waiting room for a mysterious focus group on gaming? And in the end will Ella be more than a bit unfocused by the focus group after everyone is done playing with her?

SINtendo September continues focusing on the merits of gaming, especially interactive gaming!
