College loner Toby has a chance to finally get laid, but first he has to sneak around the creepiest house in town and steal two pumpkins for a fraternity that claims the woman living there, Madame Zelenda, is a gypsy witch who cursed their frat decades ago.
True story or not, Toby is nervous about being caught. And he almost makes it out with what he needs, Madame Zelenda catching him, cursing those pumpkins.
Anyone that touches the seeds within those pumpkins will be cursed with the curse of EMPTY, becoming empty themselves, driving all to enjoyably use their empty body forever. After Toby leaves the pumpkins out, will his dad’s new wife find them and soon see how real the curse actually is?

College student Toby has been given the opportunity to be in one of the best frats on campus, which for a virginal loser like Toby is an opportunity he can’t afford not to go for… but to be in, to get his choice of the freshman girls invited to that Frat’s Halloween party, Toby has to give them something first. He has to steal two live pumpkins from behind the house at the end of the street he grew up on. But is that house really owned by a witch?
HallowKreme gets spooky when a real witch casts a curse that leads to some very fake fun!
Having lived on the street for years, the fraternity brothers are talking Toby through his mission to sneak into the overgrown jungle of a backyard one night and steal some pumpkins from Madame Zelenda’s garden. But Toby isn’t at all sure this isn’t just a prank. He’s never had any luck getting lucky, so why would a fraternity stunt involving stealing pumpkins change that?
The house is creepy though, a lot creepier now that he’s creeping through it, a little surprised to find an actual pumpkin patch hidden in the backyard. As Toby is told over the phone he keeps pressed to his ear, twenty years ago Madame Zelenda cursed their fraternity.
Supposedly no girl can enter the fraternity house unless real pumpkins are placed at all the doors. It’s why that frat house has a reputation for the biggest Halloween bash, and of course they need someone to collect the pumpkins each year, this year a strike back at the witch that cursed them by swiping some of hers.
Toby is just desperate enough of a college loser to cling to the idea that he can get in, grab the pumpkins, get out, and once he delivers them to the frat, they really will give him first pick of the cutest freshmen girls they intend to invite to their Halloween party. It’s a chance to get lucky, which Toby has never really come close to.
Even his dad in recent years got luckier than he should, especially while working a full time job. He somehow found the time to date and then marry a hot woman fifteen years younger than him, closer to Toby’s age than his. But Lindsay has been trying so desperately to bond with Toby lately, leading to only more pressure to find a girl of his own, and so there he is, sneaking around in bushes, listening to a crazy story.
Madame Zelenda was supposedly a traveling fortune-teller from some gypsy camp long ago, but unlike most she used pumpkins and not crystal balls to tell her fortunes. When kids broke in and smashed all her pumpkins she went a little crazy, moving into the rundown house Toby sneaks around behind.
Even if none of it is true, it’s definitely creepy and Toby isn’t wild about being caught, so he is as careful as ever in grabbing a couple of the heavy pumpkins, managing to carry them back with him. And when he is almost in sight of the street… that is when a voice calls out, a creepy angry voice, the voice of Madame Zelenda behind him.
She definitely looks like a witch, he thinks, trying to back away, but will this witch cast a new curse that Toby ends up enjoying? Seeing how sad his life is, she doesn’t make that life worse, letting him take the pumpkins, but she does cast an evil curse.
Waving an old stick around, wisps of smoke leaving it towards Toby, she casts the curse of EMPTY, claiming who so ever damages those pumpkins, dares to touch the seeds within, they will be forever empty and merely a toy to those that see them.
Scrambling away, relieved to just escape the creepy old lady, witch or gypsy or whoever, whatever she is, Toby is mostly finding relief thinking about the freshmen girls he will soon be picking from among their pictures, once the guys at the fraternity get the pumpkins he collected. He completed the challenge, and so he hardly thinks about the fact he just sits those two pumpkins on the back kitchen counter near the side door to his house.
After avoiding Lindsay who wants to bond as a mother to him, Toby is in his room, letting the guys know he got the pumpkins and can deliver them tomorrow. But downstairs, Lindsay is assuming her husband, out of town for work, had a neighbor drop off the pumpkins since she wanted to decorate for Halloween.
When Lindsay carves one of the pumpkins, reaching inside to empty it out… will she be the one that suddenly ends up empty, a husk of her former self? And will anyone that sees her, that hears her repeated whispered words of empty, empty, empty… be compelled to enjoy the lifeless empty toy she has become, forever?
Find out in the all-new original Tale from the Kreme, EMPTY, where all things empty can be quite enjoyably filled right up!
