Glenn is a brilliant mind in the field of AI-assisted technology, but he married a blonde who is far too bubbly and perky for either of his smart brainy children to deal with. Luckily they are in college, unluckily they happen to be home on break, and Glenn happens to be leaving town on business.
Wayne and Whitney have largely chosen to ignore Hilary exists, referring to her as ‘it’, the dumb perky thing their dad married. But after Hilary goes around cleaning and accidentally breaks an irreplaceable antique doll, part of Whitney’s collection, she’s in trouble.
Can her husband’s AI tech assistant scan the doll and make her a new doll… or will it literally make her INTO a doll?
Wayne and his twin sister Whitney have something of a persistent problem around the house… and that problem’s name is Hilary. She’s the bubble-headed busty blonde their father married and isn’t around to keep distracted. But Hilary may just go from doll to literal doll after she makes a mistake cleaning and turns to some truly powerful AI-assisted technology her husband has been working on.
For brilliantly intelligent college students home on break, Wayne and Whitney, Hilary isn’t even worthy of acknowledging, the twins ignoring her incessant perkiness and rarely referring to her as anything other than ‘it’. But Hilary has remained determined, especially with her husband leaving town on business, to somehow connect and get the kids to like her.
Glenn works on advanced AI-assisted research and technology, even developing a prototype AI computer 3D printing device available at merely a spoken word in his home office. But all his equally inventive kids would like to invent is a way to make Hilary invisible and silent.
Unfortunately for Wayne, Whitney has at least something of an escape from the home madness of Hilary being too perky and pushy with her bubbly personality. Whitney has always collected antique dolls, and is leaving to hopefully add to her collection, a meticulously kept display of them on shelves in her bedroom.
But after everyone has left and Hilary is thankfully upstairs cleaning, Wayne hears a crash and reluctantly goes to check on what that crash was.
Finding Hilary in a rare moment of absolute panic and none of the perky happy smiles, she admits that she was dusting in Hilary’s room and leaned a bit too much on a shelf… that shelf completely crashing to the floor along with all the antique dolls displayed on it.
Checking the broken glass of the display shelf, Wayne first thinks dumb luck has followed the dumb Hilary, none of the dolls looking affected… until he finds the oldest doll his sister collected, shattered porcelain, ripped hand-sewn dress, beyond repair. It is an antique doll from the baroque period, one of Whitney’s favorites… and Wayne knows she is going to freak out when she gets home.
Hilary, understanding little about the history of such a doll, easily confused about it being broken and baroque, is desperate to replace it, fix it, figure anything out. Knowing he has to say something otherwise Hilary will just pester him with frantic desperation all day, Wayne suggests she go and ask his dad’s AI in his office for help.
Since it’s connected to advanced laser-assisted 3D modeling technology there’s at least a chance it can either scan and fix or scan and replicate the very doll Hilary broke.
Writing down for Hilary since she still doesn’t get it, the word Baroque, Wayne is just glad to be done with her… but after Hilary ventures into her husband’s office to seek help from his powerful AI assisting technology, she may be the one who is done.
Glenn has designed his AI assisted tech to be highly intuitive and extremely easy to both speak with and use, but Hilary may still be too simple to manage such intelligent modern technology. After getting the broken doll scanned, the AI is assuring her that the doll can’t be repaired… but it could be recreated using the scans.
When Hilary immediately asks the AI tech to make her a Baroque Doll from the scans… mechanized robotic arms, lasers, and all the advanced technology Glenn has been working on is put to use… on Hilary herself, turning her into a life-size Baroque Doll replica, but maybe not the doll she ever intended to make, or in her case… become.
But just what kind of fun can be had with a busty blonde turned into a very quirky Baroque’n Doll? Find out as the new Tales from the Kreme continue this April.
Koming next… There’s a bonus in April…
