Some have called him the boogeyman of the tropics… others have called him a highly educated madman seeking to never repeat the same experiment twice, for to do so expecting different results would be insanity. But whether witch doctor or scientist, no one can deny that Doctor Darzula has a sinister style, and a taste for tropical transformational terror!
But thirteen years is a very long time, and in those years the world has seen its share of agreed-upon insanity… not the least of which came with a global pandemic six years ago. And that is when Doctor Darzula first appeared in the American tropics, establishing a new foothold from which to spread his maniacal mayhem, in the center of the Everglades.
But just what insanity is Darzula really up to, and how many unfortunate souls lost in the dangerous deadly and beautiful wilderness of the Everglades will have their minds and bodies experimented on? Perhaps a new hero will arise and finally save the day from insanity, even if that hero is a man who never wanted to really be a part of the world he left behind when he became a wildlife ranger working a remote station in the jungle depths of the Everglades.
Adam never minded the heat, the danger, and the isolation, the world he left behind a bit too crazy and busy for his tastes. But in recent years his superiors saw fit to insist he have a partner, though unlike Adam, she doesn’t live where they work… even if Adam might secretly not mind the thought of such a thing.
Cordelia is everything Adam ever could have wanted in a woman, gorgeous, young, and with a body he couldn’t have made better in a lab. But as old as Adam is, he’d never share his fascinations and fantasies with her, and today is not a day for romantic distractions… not when the two of them get word of a priority rescue operation they need to immediately get to.
It seems Geoff Drake, the wealthy mind behind Drake Enterprises, with connections very high in many places, has vanished with his wife Gretchen, the couple on an unauthorized tour with a guide when communications were lost. The Everglades is dangerous on a good day, but during this time of the year, daily storms are just the least of potential threats most corporate minds like theirs are just unprepared for.
But as Adam and Cordelia begin their divided search by land and water, the only hope of finding and rescuing Geoff and Gretchen Drake, the couple may be getting found already… by the boogeyman of these tropical waters.
Darzula is careful about his operations in the Everglades as he has been for six years now… but he also may have a much grander plan than ever before, one centering around Adam, uniquely special plans for the heroically noble and good man just dealing with an increasingly stressful day on the job.
With no luck in their search, with added complications like another three lost after stealing a canoe from a rental place, and with two ill-prepared Miami PD officers tracking that canoe… Adam and Cordelia each have their hands full, but in the end, will Adam get his hands full of what he always secretly dreamed of having? Can he save the day, or has this day been manipulated to an insanely infinite degree, all leading to a face to face meeting with none-other-than the Deviant Doctor Darzula?
