Skating by on Their Looks by Kris P. Kreme

She’s June O and the O stands for Oops, this isn’t June is it? Taking an extra job from her new favorite online author, June finds herself reading through a whole new Tales from the Kremey Zone.

Angela and her younger sister Amy are skater punks, enjoying the summer at a fancy building downtown undergoing renovations. But Jonathan Colton has had enough of these punks skating on his property, so he goes to confront them.

But as he is lecturing the girls that they can’t just skate by on their looks in life, will his words soon be changing those looks, and changing everything the sisters had in mind for what they wanted to do today and every day going forward?

It’s July… which might make you think June is behind you, but unless you’re running away from her, June is rarely behind you. That’s right, everyone’s newest favorite Kreme Keeper is back for a one and done, but she sure doesn’t like just getting done once. This time she’s reading a new Tales from the Kremey Zone story she requested from her favorite online author, a twisted tale about skater sisters who may just skate themselves into a situation their looks won’t get them out of.

Jonathan Colton happens to the very picture of success, owning and running his own office building in a nice part of town. And it is quite the building too, a towering classy structure with massive columns and at the moment some renovations and maintenance going on around the main entrance. Unfortunately the construction zone that it has become means he’s dealt with his share of punk skaters using the space outside the currently unoccupied lobby and those fancy columns to do tricks and skate around, generally being a nuisance.

But when the security guard informs him a couple of girls are back, skating where they shouldn’t be, Jonathan decides to go down himself and have some serious words with them. His shouting startles the pair of teenagers and one of them falls, the other only caught along with her sister because she stopped to help. So now that Jonathan Colton has two of these punk skaters he can finally give them a piece of his mind, but it may just cost them a piece of theirs.

As he lectures them on skating through life on their looks, the lecture seems to get less and less appropriate in ways neither the girls nor Jonathan notices, and pretty soon Angela and her sister Amy may be questioning their true intentions in skating around, finding less than virtuous ways of earning some money and making as big a mess of themselves as Jonathan has been a success, their minds, their ambitions, their futures, and even their bodies being changed by the intense confrontation.

But that’s just the kind of mysterious and twisted thing that happens when a building happens to be built on a foundation rooted firmly in The Kremey Zone. It’s a screwed up little story about skater sisters screwing around and June is loving every word of it, but then that’s just who June is… or rather who she became after a month of reading nothing but Tales from the Kremey Zone.
